Child / Protected Adult Protection Policy Statement

 Sympa Tuition:  Christina Dowers, teacher, who Offers individual and group lessons to students of secondary school age in preparation for their SQA exams in French and Spanish.  Individual sessions take place in the student’s home and group lessons in my home in Bearsden.

This statement applies to regulated work with [children / protected adults] as defined in the Protection of Vulnerable Groups (Scotland) Act 2007.

Sympa Tuition aims to ensure that all children and protected adults are kept safe from harm during my teaching sessions.  In order to achieve this I have a Disclosure Certificate and am a registered teacher with the General Teaching Council of Scotland.  I have had over 20 years of teaching experience and associated training on areas such as health and safety procedures, identifying and reporting abuse, and confidentiality.

understands that in addition to making a referral (a written report) to Disclosure Scotland, child protection issues must always be referred to the child protection agencies (ie social work and/or police) for appropriate investigation.  Any issues of a criminal nature will be reported to the police.
